This week we had to make 5 minute films in class. This was the first time i have ever made a film, and it was a a lot harder than i thought it would be. There are many parts to making a film that i didn't know about before. For example continuity. It can be very difficult to keep everything the same in each shot, especially if it is being shot over an extended period of time instead of a single day. Also how long it can take to actually shoot the film. when you film not only can it take many tries until you get the right shot, but sometimes you would spend 10-15 minutes and when you go to edit it you would only use 3 minutes out of everything you shot. And finally the camera shots. No only can it be hard to get certain angles and shots but you also have to make sure that the camera is steady and that your shots have continuity.
For my groups film we did a film about Glovie The Glove. It was a pretty simple but once we actually started to work on it, it was a lot harder and took much more time than we thought. Since the main character isnt a person we couldn't just film outside or in a room, we had to make sets theta would be to scale to the size of hand. Over all I think our film came out pretty good. I know that if we had maybe sent a little more time filming and had better shots it would have been a lot better, but i think that it is definitely worthy of a B- at the least. (hint hint)
